Know Before You Go

Licenses, passes and the little things that make for a great day on the water.

Licenses & Passes

Get your paperwork squared away.

We’ll help you through every step. If anything is unclear, just call or email and we’ll walk you through it.

Oregon fishing licenses

Since January 1, 2020, all Oregon fishing licenses are sold online. Licenses, tags and endorsements are available at myodfw.com.

  • An Angling License is needed for all fishing.
  • A Columbia River Basin Endorsement is required for salmon and steelhead fishing on the Lower Deschutes.
  • A Combined Angling Tag is required for steelhead and salmon fishing on any river.
Warm Springs tribal fishing pass

A Warm Springs Tribal Fishing Pass is required to fish the west side of the Lower Deschutes between Dry Creek and Trout Creek. Passes are available from the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs.

Lower Deschutes boater pass

A Lower Deschutes River Boater Pass must be present in every craft floating the Lower Deschutes. On limited entry dates in Segments 1, 3A, 3B and 4, a guide, outfitter, employee or subcontractor cannot be named as the trip leader or alternate. In that case, it’s the guest’s responsibility to set up a Recreation.gov login and purchase the boater pass.

It’s easier than it sounds. We’ll help you through the process and send the specifics of the pass you need as early as possible to make sure it’s available. Passes are sold at recreation.gov.

  • Segment 1: Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 15 to September 15
  • Segments 3A and 3B: 7 days a week, May 15 to September 15
  • Segment 4: 7 days a week, May 15 to October 15
Deposits

A deposit of 50% of the trip value is required at booking.
